Crocuta spelaea skull ( cave hyena )
Partial skull of Pleistocene-age Crocuta spelaea (cave hyena). The skull bone contains all the upper teeth. Two will be slightly damaged. The hyena skull came to the surface from river sediment in Russia, Siberia. It does not come from ice or caves. Nevertheless, the bone is in very good condition. It is not currently preserved. The dimensions of the skull are approx .: length 316 mm, width 152 mm, height 135 mm. Weight approx: 1155 grams + packaging. Hyena skulls of this integrity are very rare. But vivianite with black-colored teeth is even rarer because river sediment most often crushes fossils. Fossils in underwater layers are much harder to find in cave or other surface excavations. I also add a custom metal stand to the Crocuta spelaea skull.
