Elephas antiquus upper tooth (4623 grams) Palaeoloxodon
Upper tooth of Elephas antiquus (formerly known as Papaeoloxodon antiquus). The elephant fossil came to the surface during gravel mining in Pest County, Hungary. It was broken into 3 pieces when found. The pieces were glued together with cyanoacrylate. The dimensions of the tooth are approx.: length 265 mm, height 210 mm, width 87 mm. Its weight is approx. 4623 grams + packaging. The surface of the tooth is preserved with PVB (Mowital).
