Kochsandorit Kochsandorite from Hungary Mány
Kochsandorit CaAl2 (CO3) 2 (OH) 4 H2O whitish colored needle crystals have a size of less than one mm. Its specialty is that this mineral in the world so far only in the 10 / A mine of coal mine near Mány, in Hungary around 2000 occurred in the sterile-mass material brought to the surface. The mineral was identified in 2004 and officially published in 2007. This copy was collected in 2009 on the pit-heap/hump-yard. A few years later, after the mine was closed, the pit-heap was recultivated and incorporated in part. Therefore, collecting additional instances is difficult to implement.
The size of the stone piece containing Kochsandorite is about 64 mm x 49 mm x 19 mm. Weight approx: 38 grams + packaging. There are several spots on the stone on Kochsandorite. Probably there are also some Kochsandorite crystal groups inside the stone.
