Megaloceros giganteus partial skull (86 cm) Irish Elk SOLD (PB M?) 01
Megaloceros giganteus (giant deer) is a partial skull. The skull remains in Hungary, Pest County, during the excavation of gravel mining. There were 4 pieces in the mine. The back of the atlas of the vertebral column was back glued with clanoacrylate. Unfortunately, the two pieces of the maxillary bone can not fit the existing skull bone. Skull dimensions: the maximum distance between two agancs ends is 86 cm. The skull length is 29 cm. Weight approx: 7.8 kg + maxilla bones 0.5 kg + packaging. In the maxillary skeleton of the skull, there are two heavily decompressed envelopes. The surface of the skull is preserved with clanoacrylate and PVB (Mowital).
