Quercus cf. kubinyii plant fossil from Erdőbénye SOLD (NR) 09
Miocene age approx.: 10-13 million years old Quercus cf. kubinyii (oak) leaf impression on silicified diatom bedrock. The oak leaf fossil was unearthed during diatom mining near the Erdőbénye settlement in the Zemplén Mountains in Hungary. The size of the stone is approx: 141 mm x 116 mm x 25 mm. The length of the Quercus leaf impression is approx. 79 mm. The weight of the stone is approx. 180 grams + packaging. The surface of the leaf fossil and the surface of the entire stone are preserved with cyanoacrylate because the stone contains many hairline cracks.
