Eocene age (approx. 45-50 million years old) Schizaster globulus sea urchin fossil on bedrock.
A small part of the perfectly prepared whole specimen of Schizaster is still in its original bedrock.
Natural cracks are visible in some places on the calcited shell.
The sea urchin came to the surface during bauxite mining near the Kincsesbánya settlement in the Bakony Mountains in Hungary.
Including the sea urchin bedrock approx.: 59 mm x 59 mm x 29 mm. Weight approx.: 93 grams + packaging.
