Stigmaria ficoides fossil from the Czech Republic (8,6 Kg)
Carboniferous (between 318-325 million years) Stigmaria ficoides root fossil. The plant fossil came to the surface during coal mining in the Czech Republic, near the town of Karviná, in August 2021. The size of the coal stone containing the plant fossil is approximately: 346 mm x 198 mm x 109 mm. Its weight is approx. 8.6 Kg + packaging. The surface of the fossil is preserved against dusting.
