4 Turitella sp. from Hungary
4 Eocene Turitella sp. snails (stone intestines). The fossils were found in the Bakony Mountains, Hungary, during coal mining near the settlement of Dudar. The mud that filled the snail shell petrified. Over time, the shell material dissolved back and the filling remained. The snail remains measure approx. 56.5 - 34.6 mm. The weight of the 4 stone intestines is approx. 25 grams + packaging.
