Acer cf. integerrimum leaf from Erdőbénye
Middle Miocene (Sarmatian) age (ca. 10-13 million years old) Acer cf. integerrimum (maple) leaf imprint. The leaf fossil was unearthed during diatom mining in the Zemplén Mountains in Hungary near the settlement of Erdőbénye. The dimensions of the silicified diatomaceous stone containing the imprint are ca. 185 mm x 184 mm x 44 mm. Weight ca. 726 grams + packaging. The size of the maple leaf is ca. 102 mm x 98 mm
