Bison priscus jaw (505 mm) steppe bison
Bison priscus (steppe bison) right lateral lower jaw. 5 whole teeth can be seen in the jaw bone. The bison fossil came to the surface during gravel mining in Pest County, Hungary. Dimensions of the jaw: length 505 mm, height 217 mm, width 60 mm. Weight approx.: 1102 grams + packaging. The surface of the jaw is preserved with a substance called Polyvinyl Butyral 30 dissolved in ethanol. Drying cracks are visible on the bone.
