Bison priscus metacarpus bone (247 mm)
Pleistocene age Bison priscus (steppe bison) metacarpal bone. The bone remains were found during mining in Pest County, Hungary. The size of the bone is approximately: length 247 mm, width 85 mm, thickness 47 mm. Weight approximately: 571 grams + packaging. The surface of the bone is preserved with a substance called Polyvinyl Butyral 30 dissolved in ethanol. Drying cracks are visible on the bone.
