Cervus elaphus partial antler
Partial antler on skull bone of a Cervus elaphus (red deer) from the Pleistocene period. The deer fossil was unearthed during gravel mining in Pest County, Hungary. The dimensions of the antler fossil are approximately: length 473 mm. The largest diameter of the antler rose is 66 mm. The weight of the antler is approximately: 866 grams + packaging. The surface of the antler is preserved with a substance called Polyvinyl Butyral 30 dissolved in ethanol.
