Cervus elaphus partial antler & skull bone
Partial antler on skull bone of a 4-5 year old specimen of Pleistocene Cervus elaphus (red deer) from the 19th century. The deer fossil was unearthed during gravel mining in Pest County, Hungary. The dimensions of the deer remains are approximately: length 291 mm, the largest diameter of the antler rose is 52 mm. The weight of the fossil is approximately: 350 grams + packaging. The surface of the deer fossil is preserved with a clay called Polyvinyl Butyral30 dissolved in ethanol.
