Coelodonta antiquitatis partial jaw (437 mm) Woolly Rhinoceros
Coelodonta antiquitatis (woolly rhinoceros) lower left partial jaw. 6 complete teeth are visible in the jaw. The rhinoceros remains were found during gravel mining in Pest County, Hungary. The jaw measures approximately: length 437 mm, height 139 mm, width 151 mm. Weight approximately: 2252 grams + packaging. The surface of the jaw is preserved with a substance called Polyvinyl Butyral 30 dissolved in ethanol. The interesting thing about the jaw is that hyena chewing marks are visible on the lower back.
