Cupressaceae sp. from Erdőbénye
Miocene age approx.: 10-13 million years old Cupressaceae sp. plant imprint on silicified diatom bedrock. Fossils of the Cupressaceae plant were unearthed during diatom mining in the Zemplén Mountains near the settlement of Erdőbénye in Hungary. The size of the stone is approx: 310 mm x 194 mm x 41 mm. The distance between the two ends of the Cupressaceae leaf impression is approx. 173 mm. The weight of the stone is approx. 2160 grams + packaging. Drying cracks are visible on the stone.
