Dactyloceras ammonites from Ohmden
Jurassic age (approx. 200-170 million years old) Dactyloceras ammonites on bedrock. I collected the ammonites in the mine near the village of Ohmden near Holzmaden in Germany at the end of June 2025. The size of the stone containing the fossils is approx. 219 mm x 145 mm x 21.8 mm. Weight approx. 507 grams + packaging The fossils are pyritic and phosphate mineralized. Both sides of the entire stone are surface treated with a material called Héra falfix.
