Elephas antiquus partial tooth (491 grams) Palaeoloxodon antiquus
Partial lower left tooth of Elephas antiquus (formerly known as Palaeoloxodon antiquus). The elephant fossil was unearthed during gravel mining in Pest County, Hungary. The tooth measures approximately: length 90 mm, height 122 mm, width 55 mm. Weight approximately: 491 grams + packaging. The tooth surface is preserved with a substance called Polyvinyl Butyral 30 dissolved in ethanol. Drying cracks are visible on the tooth.
