Elephas antiquus upper tooth (5,55 Kg) Palaeoloxodon antiquus
Pleistocene Elephas antiquus (formerly known as Palaeoloxodon antiquus) partial upper (M3 tooth. The elephant fossil was unearthed during gravel mining in Pest County, Hungary. It was broken into two pieces when it was found. The two component rocks were glued together with glue. The dimensions of the tooth are approx.: length 295 mm , height 225 mm, width 91 mm. The tooth has drying cracks. The tooth surface is preserved with cyanoacrylate.
