Equus sp. metacarpus bone (Horse)
Pleistocene Equus sp. (ancient horse) metacarpal bone. The horse fossil was unearthed during gravel mining in Pest County, Hungary. The dimensions of the bone are approximately: length 245 mm, width 60.9 mm, thickness 43 mm. Weight approximately: 463 grams + packaging. The surface of the bone is preserved with a substance called Polyvinyl Butyral 30 dissolved in ethanol. A large drying crack is visible on the bone.
