Equus sp. partial jaw (167 mm)
Partial left jaw of a Pleistocene horse (Equus sp.). The horse fossil was unearthed during gravel mining in Pest County, Hungary. One complete tooth is visible in the jaw. The jaw dimensions are approximately: length 167 mm, height 87.4 mm, width 24.9 mm. Weight approximately: 216 grams + packaging. The surface of the jaw is preserved with a substance called Polyvinyl Butyral 30 dissolved in ethanol. Drying cracks are visible on the jaw bone.
