Equus sp. partial jaw (388 mm)
Right lower partial jaw of a Pleistocene horse (Equus sp.). 10 teeth are visible in the jaw bone. The horse fossil was unearthed during gravel mining in Pest County, Hungary. Dimensions of the jaw: length 388 mm, height 134 mm, width 73 mm. Weight approx.: 1047 grams + packaging. The surface of the jaw is preserved with a substance called Polyvinyl Butyral 30 dissolved in ethanol. A large drying crack is visible on the lower part of the jaw.
