Mammuthus meridionalis tooth (3953 grams)

Partial tooth of Mammuthus meridionalis (southern mammoth). The mammoth fossil was unearthed during gravel mining in Pest County, Hungary. When it was found, it was broken into four pieces and glued together with cyanoacrylate. The tooth measures approximately: length 277 mm, height 119 mm, width 94 mm. Weight approximately: 3953 grams + packaging. The surface of the tooth is preserved with a substance called Polyvinyl Butyral 30 dissolved in ethanol.
