Mammuthus primigenius partial rib bone (630 mm)
Partial rib bone of Mammuthus primigenius (woolly mammoth). The mammoth fossil was unearthed during gravel mining in Pest County, Hungary. The dimensions of the bone are approximately: length 630 mm, greatest width 105 cm, greatest thickness 51 mm. Weight approximately: 1780 grams + packaging. A large drying crack is visible on the bone. The surface of the bone has been preserved with a substance called Polyvinyl Butyral 30 dissolved in ethanol.
