Mammuthus primigenius partial tibia bone (1019 grams)
Lower end of Mammuthus primigenius (woolly mammoth) tibia bone detached at the epophysis. The mammoth bone came to the surface during gravel mining in Pest County, Hungary. The dimensions of the bone are approximately: 190 mm x 155 mm x 63 mm. Weight approx.: 1019 grams + packaging. The visible drying cracks on the bone were covered with cyanoacrylate. The surface of the bone is preserved with a substance called Polyvinyl Butyral 30 dissolved in ethanol.
