Mammuthus primigenius partial tooth (4476 grams)
Partial tooth of Mammuthus primigenius (woolly mammoth). The mammoth fossil was found during gravel mining in Pest County, Hungary. It was found broken into two pieces, but when it was broken, pieces fell off the tooth, so it cannot be put back together neatly. The dimensions of the tooth are approximately: larger piece: length 159 mm, height 224 mm, width 133 mm. Weight approximately: 3636 grams + packaging. Smaller piece: length 55 mm, height 180 mm, width 123 mm. Weight: 840 grams + packaging. The surface of the tooth is preserved with a substance called Polyvinyl Butyral 30 dissolved in ethanol.
