Mammuthus primigenius tooth (3780 grams) Woolly mammoth molar
Mammuthus primigenius (woolly mammoth) upper tooth. The mammoth fossil came to the surface ten years ago during gravel mining in Pest County, Hungary. Back then, miners used boat varnish to preserve the surface of the tooth. There are yellow discolorations on the tooth from the varnish, which could not be removed mechanically everywhere. The dimensions of the tooth are approx.: length 253 mm, height 171 mm, width 109 mm. Weight approx.: 3780 grams + packaging. The surface of the tooth is preserved with a substance called Polyvinyl Butyral 30.
