Mammuthus sp. partial jaw (1906 grams)
Mammuthus sp. partial jaw bone. The mammoth fossil was unearthed during gravel mining in Pest County, Hungary. The jaw is split in two at the tip. A small partial tooth is visible in the right jaw piece. The dimensions of the bone are approximately: right piece: length 214 mm, height 132 mm, width 71 mm. Weight approximately: 991 grams + packaging. Left jaw piece: length: 272 mm, height 100 mm, width 71 mm. Weight approximately: 915 grams + packaging. The surface of the bone is preserved with a substance called Polyvinyl Butyral 30 dissolved in ethanol.
