Mammuthus sp. partial tusk (2177 grams)
Mammuthus sp. (cf. Mammuthus meridionalis?) partial mammoth tusk fragment. The mammoth fossil came to the surface during gravel mining in Pest County, Hungary. The dimensions of the tusk are approx.: length 216 mm, width 127 mm, thickness 115 mm. Weight: approx. 2177 grams + packaging. The surface of the tusk is preserved with a substance called Polyvinyl Butyral 30 dissolved in ethanol. On the tusk, along some old cracks, you can see calcifications of sand and gravel.
