Megaloceros giganteus metatarsus bone (373 mm)
Pleistocene Megaloceros giganteus (Irish giant deer) metatarsal bone. The deer fossil came to the surface during gravel mining in Pest County, Hungary. The dimensions of the bone are approx.: Length: 373 mm, width 79 mm, thickness 67 mm. Weight: approx. 888 grams + packaging. Drying cracks are visible on the bone. The surface of the bone is preserved with a substance called Polyvinyl Butyral 30 dissolved in ethanol.
