Megaloceros giganteus partial antler (305 mm) SOLD (R) 06
Partially shed antler of a Pleistocene Megaloceros giganteus (giant deer). The Megaloceros fossil was unearthed during gravel mining in Pest County, Hungary. The dimensions of the antler are approximately: the greatest distance between the two ends is 305 mm. The greatest diameter of the antler rose (crown) is 101 mm. The weight of the antler is approximately: 791 grams + packaging. The surface of the antler is preserved with a substance called Polyvinyl Butyral 30. The drying cracks visible on the antler are filled with cyanoacrylate.
