Megaloceros giganteus partial antler ( 359 mm)
Partially shed antler of Pleistocene Megaloceros giganteus (giant deer). The Megaloceros fossil came to the surface during gravel mining in Pest County, Hungary. The dimensions of the antler are approx.: the largest distance between the two ends is 359 mm. The largest diameter of the antler rose (crown) is 93 mm. The weight of the antler is approx. 1212 grams + packaging. The surface of the antler is preserved with cyanoacrylate and Polyvinyl Butyral 30. The drying cracks visible on the antler are infused with cyanoacrylate.
