Megaloceros giganteus partial jaw (393 mm)
Megaloceros giganteus (Irish giant deer) partial left lower jaw. The deer fossil was unearthed during gravel mining in Pest County, Hungary. The jaw dimensions are approximately: length 393 mm, height 93 mm, width 45 mm. Weight approximately: 820 grams + packaging. The surface of the jaw is preserved with a substance called Polyvinyl Butyral 30 dissolved in ethanol. Some drying cracks are visible on the jaw bone.
