Megaloceros giganteus partial skull
Pleistocene Megaloceros giganteus (giant deer) partial skull bone with a piece of antler on the left side. The Megaloceros fossil was unearthed during gravel mining in Pest County, Hungary. The dimensions of the skull bone are approximately: length 177 mm, width 295 mm. The largest diameter of the antler rose (crown) is 107 mm. The weight of the skull is approx. 1956 grams + packaging. The surface of the skull is preserved with a substance called Polyvinyl Butyral 30 dissolved in ethanol.
