Megaloceros sp. radius bone (371 mm)
Pleistocene Megaloceros giganteus or verticornis radius bone. The deer fossil was unearthed during gravel mining near Győrújfalu in Győr-Mosom-Sopron county, Hungary, about 20 years ago. At that time, Mammuthus meridionalis remains were found in the mine, so this bone probably belonged to a deer called Megaloceros verticornis. The dimensions of the bone are approximately: Length: 371 mm, width 79.3 mm, thickness 45.3 mm. Weight approximately: 890 grams + packaging. The surface of the bone is preserved with a substance called Polyvinyl Butyral 30 dissolved in ethanol.
