Polished calcite from Budaörs
Layered calcite slice polished on both sides. The mineral came close to the surface during mining in the limestone mine at Budaörs Törökugrató Street in Pest County, Hungary. It was collected in 1997 based on the book 100 Hungarian mineral deposits. The site has since been protected, so it is no longer possible to collect additional specimens. The size of the grind is approx: 140 mm x 71 mm. The thickness of the slice is between 11-13 mm. Calcite weight: 210 grams + packaging. The banded part of the calcite illuminates in long-wave UV light.
