Polished petrified wood from Hungary, Fony (1147 grams)
Sanding of Miocene-aged tree branches in limnocartzite bedrock. One side of the stone is cut polished and the other side is in natural condition. The wood fossil surfaced during limnocartzite mining in the Zemplén Mountains near Fony, Hungary. The size of the polished surface is approx .: 177 mm x 101 mm.
