Print of Podocarpium podocarpium fruit from Erdőbénye
Middle Miocene Sarmatian (approx. 13 - 10 million years old) pod impression of Podocarpium podocarpium in silicified diatom. The print came to the surface during diatomaceous earth mining in Hungary, in the Zempléni Mountains near the settlement of Erdőbénye. The size of the stone containing the impression is approximately: 86 mm x 67 mm x 15 mm. Weight approx.: 32 grams + packaging. The size of the Podocarpium impression is approx. 24 mm.
