Quercus kubinyii leaf from Hungary
Miocene age: approx. 10-13 million years old Quercus cf. kubinyii (oak) leaf imprint on bedrock. The Oak leaf fossil was found during diatom mining in the Zemplén Mountains in Hungary near the Erdőbénye settlement. The dimensions of the stone are approx.: 129 mm x 100 mm x 16 mm. Its weight is approx.: 96 grams + packaging. The length of the Quercus leaf imprint is approx.: 61.6 mm. The stone contains the remains of 2 other different plant species. A Podocarpium podocarpium fruit can also be seen on the other side of the stone.
