Quercus kubinyii leaf pair from Hungary
Miocene age: ca: 10-13 million years old manganese dendritic Quercus cf. kubinyii (oak) partial leaf impression in pair on silicified bedrock. The Oak leaf fossils were found during diatom mining in the Zemplén Mountains in Hungary near the settlement of Erdőbénye. The dimensions of the stones are ca: (A): 203 mm x 74 mm x 15 mm. Weight ca: 235 grams + packaging. (B): 195 mm x 77 mm x 10 mm. Weight ca: 131 grams + packaging. The length of the Quercus leaf impression is ca: 66 mm. The two stones contain the remains of 3 other different plant species.
