Quercus sp. leaf fossil from Erdőbénye SOLD (DDF) 02
Miocene age approx.: 10-13 million years old Quercus sp. (oak) leaf impression on silicified diatom bedrock. The oak leaf fossil was unearthed during diatom mining near the Erdőbénye settlement in the Zemplén Mountains in Hungary. The size of the stone is approximately: 160 mm x 101 mm x 40 mm. The length of the Quercus leaf impression is approx. 62 mm. The weight of the stone is approx. 392 grams + packaging. Drying cracks are visible on the stone.
