Rhinoceros partial maxilla from Hungary
Partial maxilla (skull) bone of a Pleistocene rhinoceros. The bone contains 4 whole teeth. One of the teeth has not yet been chewed by the rhinoceros. The rhinoceros fossil was found during gravel mining in Pest County, Hungary. The dimensions of the maxilla are approx. 228 mm x 167 mm x 88 mm. Its weight is approx. 998 grams + packaging. The surface of the rhinoceros fossil is preserved with PVB (Mowital). The drying cracks visible on the fossil have been filled with cyanoacrylate.
