Tympanotonus margaritaceus from Máriahalom
Oligocene (approx. 30-27 million years old) fossil of a snail called Tympanotonus margaritaceus. The snail fossil came to the surface during sand mining near Máriahalom in Hungary. The dimensions of the snail are approximately: 38.5 mm x 16 mm x 15 mm. Weight: approx. 5 grams + packaging.
