Zelkova ungeri leaf from Erdőbénye
Miocene age (approx. 10-13 million years old) Hungarian Zelkova (elm) leaf imprint in silicified diatomaceous medium. The plant fossil was unearthed during diatom mining in the Zemplén Mountains in Hungary near the settlement of Erdőbénye. The dimensions of the stone containing the leaf fossils are approx. 208 mm x 97 mm x 73 mm. Weight approx. 905 grams + packaging. The length of the Zelkova leaf imprint is approx. 50.9 mm. The stone also contains partial leaf impressions of at least 4 other plants.
