Dactyloceras and Harpoceras ammonites from near Ohmden
Jurassic age (approx. 200-170 million years old) Dactyloceras and Harpoceras ammonites on bedrock. I collected the ammonites in the mine near the Ohmden settlement near Holzmaden in Germany at the end of June 2025. The size of the stone containing the fossils is approx. 437 mm x 238 mm x 22.9 mm. Weight approx. 2746 grams + packaging The fossils are pyritic and phosphate mineralized. Both sides of the entire stone are surface treated with a material called Héra falfix. There are ammonites and shell fossils on both sides of the stone.
