20 pieces of Harpoceras and 23 pieces of Dactyloceras ammonites on a middle plate
Jurassic age (approx. 200-170 million years old) stone slab containing at least 23 Dactyloceras ammonites and 20 small Harpoceras ammonites. The place of origin of the ammonite fossils is a quarry on the edge of the town of Ohmden near Holzmaden, Germany. Collection time: June 2023. The dimensions of the stone containing the ammonites are approx. 447 mm x 378 mm x 14 mm. Weight approx.: 2975 grams + packaging. The diameter of the largest Dactyloceras is approx. 50 mm. The ammonites and the whole stone are preserved with a substance called Durol STH 101, which prevents the decomposition of the pyrite and phosphate minerals. A lot of fossils can be seen on both sides of the stone slab.
