Right jaw of a young Bison priscus
Young Bison priscus (steppe bison) right lateral lower jaw. 6 whole teeth are visible in the jaw bone. Of its teeth, it chewed with only 3 teeth. The other 3 teeth have not yet emerged from the jaw. The bison fossil was found during gravel mining in Pest County, Hungary. The dimensions of the jaw are approximately: length 405 mm, height 217 mm, width 47 mm. Weight approximately: 751 grams + packaging. The surface of the jaw is preserved with a substance called Polyvinyl Butyral 30 dissolved in ethanol.
