Equus sp. metatarsal bone (306 mm) Horse
Pleistocene Equus sp. (horse) metatarsal bone. The horse fossil was unearthed during gravel mining in Pest County, Hungary. The dimensions of the bone are approx.: length 306 mm, width 54 mm, thickness 46 mm. Weight: approx. 591 grams + packaging. The surface of the bone is preserved with a substance called Polyvinyl Butyral 30 dissolved in ethanol. Drying cracks are visible on the bone.
