Stigmaria ficoides fossil from the Czech Republic (12,8 Kg)
Carboniferous 318-325 million year old Stigmaria ficoides (bran tree?) root fossil. The plant fossil came to the surface during coal mining in the Czech Republic, near the town of Karviná, in August 2021. The size of the coal stone containing the plant fossil is approximately: 461 mm x 211 mm x 91 mm. Its weight is approx. 12.8 Kg + packaging. The surface of the fossil is preserved against dusting.
