Acer cf. integerrimum leaf pair from Erdőbénye
Middle Miocene (Sarmatian) age (approx. 10-13 million years old) Acer cf. integerrimum (maple) leaf impression in a pair. The leaf fossil was unearthed during diatom mining in the Zemplén Mountains near the settlement of Erdőbénye in Hungary. The dimensions of the silicified diatom stones containing the impression are approximately: (A): 245 mm x 93 mm x 29 mm. Weight: approx. 453 grams + packaging. (B): 111mm x 63mm x 14mm. weight: approx. 67 grams + packaging. Diatomaceous rock contains desiccation cracks.
