Acer cf. integerrimum seed from Erdőbénye SOLD (SP) 09
Middle Miocene (Sarmatian) age (approx. 10-13 million years old) Acer cf. integerrium imprint of (maple) seed. The core fossil came to the surface during diatom mining near the Erdőbénye settlement in the Zemplén Mountains in Hungary. The dimensions of the diatom (diatomaceous earth) stone containing the impression are approx. 167 mm x 133 mm x 50 mm. Weight approx.: 268 grams + packaging. On the other side of the diatomaceous stone Quercus sp. partial leaf impressions are visible. The very soft surface of diatomaceous earth dusts easily, so its surface is conserved.
